If you were employed by the New York City Department of Education as a public school teacher on or after June 29, 1995, who failed the Liberal Arts and Sciences Test (“LAST”), and as a result either lost or were denied a permanent teaching appointment, then you may be eligible for relief, including backpay, certification and eligibility for reinstatement in the New York City public school system, a pension (or value of a pension), and other benefits associated with a permanent teaching position.
